XDS phono upgrade for CTA252 / CA252

The “XDS” board is an upgrade to the original “XD” board fitted to classic Nytech CTA252XD/CTP102 and early (MK1) CA252 and CP112 amplifiers.

The first big feature about this board is that it is switchable between moving magnet and moving coil so any cartridge upgrades will now only require moving some links on the board.

The second big feature is that the XDS board includes the same “current amplifier” input as our CDP132 phono stage which not only matches moving coil cartridges perfectly but also features a very low noise floor when compared with the original.

The moving magnet side has also been improved using a low noise operational amplifier so the board has a significantly better noise performance that the original “XD” boards.

Please note that the push fit connectors used on the original boards are no longer available so fitting this board requires a soldering iron to attach the input and output cables.

If you are not confident in fitting the board yourself then we can fit it for you as part of a service for the additional cost of the board.

CA252 owners please note – The XDS board can only be fitted to the first version of the CA252 (the version with boards in the top half of the case). The board cannot be used with the later version CA252 or the 6 button CA302.
